Microwave Millimeter Wave Team

October 26, 2022

The microwave millimeter wave team of the School of Electronic Engineering currently has 16 members, including 12 doctors and 6 senior titles. This direction focuses on theoretical research, simulation, and hardware implementation of electromagnetic fields and microwave technology such as radio wave propagation, microwave circuits and systems, antenna theory and technology, bioelectromagnetic effects, and electromagnetic compatibility. The team members have a good theoretical foundation and engineering experience in electromagnetic fields and have undertaken 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 11 projects of the Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province, more than 10 other provincial and ministerial projects, and municipal and departmental projects, published more than 100 papers and more than 20 patents.

The electromagnetic field and microwave technology laboratory under the team is equipped with advanced test equipment and simulation software, including a 40GHz signal source and spectrum analyzer, 30GHz signal analyzer, 40GHz vector network analyzer, 20GHz vector network analyzer, and other imported test equipment and near-field scanning system, antenna test platform and other domestic test systems.

Main research directions:

Wave propagation: Based on the electromagnetic field and electromagnetic wave theory, the focus is on the application of microwave and millimeter wave technology in the field of atmospheric detection, the research on radio wave propagation characteristics in complex electromagnetic environments (soil, seawater, atmosphere, etc.), and the scattering characteristics of meteorological targets.

Microwave circuits and systems: microwave power synthesis, millimeter wave light-controlled phased array radar systems, etc.

Antenna theory and technology: antenna (array), new electromagnetic materials, antenna miniaturization, conformality, multi-polarization, multi-beam, and other aspects of research.

Bioelectromagnetic effect: Bioelectromagnetic effect and its mechanism of action, the interaction between electromagnetic field and chemical reaction non-equilibrium system, and the algorithm of electromagnetic field inverse problem, etc.

Electromagnetic compatibility: system-level electromagnetic compatibility research based on artificial intelligence, research on the reconstruction of complex electromagnetic environment characteristics in various application scenarios, and measurement and analysis of spatiotemporal complexity of the electromagnetic environment.
