Relying on the key disciplines of information and communication engineering and meteorological detection technology, the meteorological radar system team focuses on the key problems and core technologies of time/frequency/polarimetric multi-dimensional information acquisition and processing in modern electronic systems (such as meteorological radar systems), take PC, DSP, programmable logic, embedded systems, etc. as technical platforms, and aims at the research of practical software and hardware product systems, and carries out relevant theoretical and technical research. The main research directions include 1. Time/frequency/polarimetric multi-dimensional information acquisition and processing technology; 2. System research and development based on FPGA, DSP, and embedded chips; 3. Processing and application of meteorological detection information; 4. Meteorological radar signal processing technology; 5. Observation techniques and methods of strong convective weather system; 6. Application and evaluation of weather modification. At present, the team has 25 personnel, including 5 professors, 8 doctors, 6 doctoral candidates, 1 outstanding expert with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province, and 1 reserve candidate for academic and technical leaders in Sichuan Province. In the past 5 years, the team has led and completed more than 20 scientific research projects of the Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and provincial and ministerial levels, and the scientific research funds have exceeded 40 million yuan. It has won 2 third prizes in Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Award, 1-second prize in meteorological science and technology progress achievements of China Meteorological Administration, and 1 excellent product award from the China Meteorological Service Association. He has won honorary titles such as "National Meteorological Teaching Team", "Advanced Individual in Sichuan Comprehensive Innovation and Reform Experiment", "Sichuan 'Top Ten' Outstanding Young Meteorological Science and Technology Worker", and "Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker of the Eleventh Council of Sichuan Electronics Society".
