To further improve the scientific research level of meteorological detection and the quality of talent cultivation at the College of Electronic Engineering. on May 9th, Yang Ling, the Dean of the College of Electronic Engineering, and 4 professors of went to the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University for research and investigation. Dong Wenjie, the Dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Sun Yat-Sen University, Hang Jian and Li Weibiao, Vice Deans, and the heads of scientific research teams attended the exchange symposium.

Yang Ling briefly introduced the basic situation of our college from the aspects of talent team construction, teaching and scientific research achievements, talent cultivation, and external exchanges. Professor Yao Zhendong introduced the relevant achievements and progress in meteorological detection research of pour college, mainly referred to representative achievements—weather modification radar, air detection radar", etc., and put forward the direction of future cooperation between the College of Electronic Engineering of CUIT and Engineering went to the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University combined with the characteristics of the discipline. Professor Su Debin delivered a wish that the two sides should closely follow the national strategic needs, and actively integrate advantageous resources to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation.

On behalf of Sun Yat-sen University, Dong Wenjie extended a warm welcome to our delegation. He introduced the general situation of the School of Atmospheric Sciences and expressed his hope that through this investigation, the two sides will further strengthen academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation. Professor Han Yong introduced to our delegation in detail the perspective of the achievements in the academic discipline construction during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period and the layout of the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Then, the heads of the scientific research teams of the school, such as space weather, marine scientific research, atmospheric physical chemistry, resources, and environmental observation, introduced their research general situation and talked about the outlook of the future cooperation with our college.

At the meeting, the participants carried out heated discussions on laboratory construction, scientific research cooperation, and postgraduate admissions based on the common characteristics of the disciplines. During the research and investigation, Yang Ling and the four professors visited the laboratory of the Haiqin No. 2 Building.

Through this research and investigation, the delegation of our college learned the advanced experience and practices from the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University and broadened the thoughts of discipline construction, scientific research, and talents cultivation in our school. In the future, our college will actively integrate superior resources and strive to carry out more effective cooperation with the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University.
