On October 9, the 2021 joint fund major and key project approval meeting of the Key Open Laboratory of Atmospheric Sounding of China Meteorological Administration was successfully held at the Meteorological Sounding Center of China Meteorological Administration. The 7 members of the evaluation expert group are selected by the key laboratory, and researcher Liu Liping of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences is the group leader. Zhang Benzhi, the senior engineer, co-chaired the event.

According to the key laboratory open fund management specifications and procedures, for 4 major projects and 14 key projects declared in the 2021 Joint Fund Guidelines, the review committee will review the 18 declared projects. The evaluation meeting has standard defense procedures and evaluation specifications. The expert group listens to the on-site defense of the project applicant, reviews the application form, and inquires the respondent on key issues such as the subject research content, technical route, and assessment indicators in the application form. The evaluation expert group put forward revision opinions and suggestions for each project, set up comprehensive evaluation links for major projects and key projects, and finally formed a defense opinion.
