On March 4-7th, Dr. Jochen Landgraf, from SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research, was invited by the Institute of Electronic Engineering to visit school. During this period, Dr. Jochen Landgraf gave an academic seminar entitled "Science aspect of TROPOMI and OCO-2". This seminar was hosted by Yang Ling, dean of the School of Electronic Engineering.

The seminar was focused on the development of greenhouse gas detectors such as satellite remote sensing of atmospheric Carbon dioxide and Methane, as well as satellite inverse algorithms. Dr. Jochen Landgraf also provided an overview of the current status and developments of the international hyper-spectral greenhouse gas monitor. Moreover, Dr. JochenLandgrafintroducedthe performance and applications of hyper-spectral satellite observation loads. The atmospheric radiation transmission mode and inverse algorithm of atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide greenhouse gases using short-wave infrared remote sensing were also introduced.

At the end, Dr. Jochen Landgraf had an in-depth exchange with our faculties and students. Associate Professor Liu Hailei, member of our atmospheric remote sensing methods and techniques, introduced the current status of the scientific researches and achievements. The two sides exchanged views on the launching of further scientific cooperation also.
