The Electronic Information Engineering Has Been in The First Phalanx of The Global Engineering Education

Recently, the Higher Education Evaluation Center of Ministry of Education, and China Engineering Education Accreditation Association announced that 293 specialties had passed the Professional Certification of Engineering Education in 2017, including the electronic information engineering of CUIT. So far, 846 engineering specialties of 198 colleges and universities passed the professional certification, accounting 4.45% of more than 19,000 engineering specialties in China. This means that the electronic information engineering of CUIT and other 800 engineering specialties have been in the first phalanx of the global engineering education in China.



Background information:

The electronic information engineering was established in 1978, developed from the weather radar, high altitude meteorology,meteorological observationand applied electronic technology, with "combination of meteorology and electronic, electronic is the main " as the characteristics, and involved in thenational characteristic specialtiesand the first batch of Outstanding Engineers Education and Training Programs.


November 2017, the Professor Chen Heixia from the Nanjing University of Posts and telecommunications, as the leader of the panel of the professional certification of engineering education, conducted a four-day on-site examination for electronic information engineering. The panel adhered to the concept of student as the center, output as orientation and continuous improvements, according to the standards of engineering education, and strictly examined student affairs,educational objectives graduation requirements, continuous improvements, curriculum systems, faculties and support conditions. The panel believed that "the talents educated by this specialty have both the fundamental of electronic information technology and the background of atmospheric science, can engage in the research, development, design and maintenance management of meteorological observation and electronic information system."
