On March 16, 2022, two days after the successful closing of the Winter Paralympic Games in China, the on-site weather services for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Games and Winter Paralympics Games organized and implemented by the China Meteorological Administration also came to a successful conclusion.

Since July 2020, our school has participated in the "Smart Winter Olympics-- Weather Forecast Demonstration Plan in 2022" organized and implemented by the China Meteorological Administration. The scientific research team led by Su Debin, Guo Zaihua, and Wang Lijuan of the College of Electronic Engineering (College of Meteorological Observation) has been actively preparing and working hard to get meticulous research on refined numerical prediction models. After two rounds of rigorous testing and screening by the China Meteorological Administration, the nowcasting system WiNS developed by our college finally became a finalized product and entered the ranks of the 2022 Smart Winter Olympics meteorological guarantee operation.

To provide a scientific weather forecast for Beijing "Double Olympics" meteorological service to meet the "100-meter-level, minute-level" refined weather forecast, provide "Double Olympics" with more accurate weather forecast products, and comprehensively promote the in-depth development of high-level refined weather forecast technology. During the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics Games, the support team--Professor Su Debin of the college is divided into three groups to ensure the real-time transmission of forecast products in Zhangjiakou, Yanqing, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and provide wind, temperature, and precipitation for

Zhangjiakou and Yanqing. , visibility, humidity, and other forecast products with a horizontal resolution of 100 meters, providing forecast products with a horizontal resolution of 500 meters for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei competition area. Among them, the forecast effect of wind and temperature in Zhangjiakou competition area and Yanqing competition area was outstanding during the "Double Olympics". As shown below, Figure 1 shows the average wind field at 10 meters in the Zhangjiakou and Yanqing competition areas of the Winter Olympics under the WiNS system, and Figure 2 is a temperature map with a resolution of 2 meters at a resolution of 100 meters in the Zhangjiakou and Yanqing competition areas of the Winter Olympics under the WiNS system.
