The School of Electronic Engineering hosted a series of lectures on meteorological satellite observations

    On the morning of March 31, 2023, Chief Scientist Jun Li from the National Satellite Meteorology Center and Professor Min Min, a doctoral supervisor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, were invited by the School of Electronic Engineering to deliver academic lectures. The lectures, titled "High Temporal and Frequency Atmospheric Vertical Detection and Applications" by Chief Scientist Jun Li and "Nighttime Dim Light Atmospheric Radiation Transmission Model and Theoretical Research" by Professor Min Min, were chaired by Deputy Dean Zhao Shi, with faculty and students from relevant fields attending.

    Chief Scientist Jun Li provided a detailed explanation to the audience about the theoretical foundations and developments in high-temporal-and-frequency atmospheric vertical detection, presenting the research achievements of his team in this field. He discussed the significant application value and development potential of high-temporal-and-frequency atmospheric vertical detection from scientific and technological perspectives. Furthermore, he offered insights into future directions and potential challenges in this area.

    Professor Min Min elaborated on the necessity and theoretical basis of nighttime dim light atmospheric radiation transmission research, highlighting its unique application value and the research outcomes of his team. He shared various examples to illustrate the application value and development potential of nighttime dim light atmospheric radiation transmission models.

    During the interactive discussion session, both Chief Scientist Jun Li and Professor Min Min patiently and meticulously addressed questions raised by the faculty and students present. Their insightful presentations greatly benefited the audience and encouraged students to strive for the peaks of science and technology, realizing their own values in future learning endeavors.
