May 31, The Expert Review Meeting on "No. 4 scientific experimental Satellite Ground Application System,Engineering Data Service System(DSS),HRIT Data User Application Sub-system Provincial Reception Station (Chengdu University of Information Technology Station) implementation plan" was held in the Sixth Conference Room of CUIT.
The participants in the review meeting included GaoYun, the leader of expert group and the director of the Remote Sensing Application Service Center of Chinese Meteorological Administration; Cao Jing, the member of the expert group and the deputy director of the Remote Sensing Division of the Department of comprehensive Observation affiliating to Chinese Meteorological Administration; JiaShubo, the deputy general manager of HUAYUN ShineTek, a Beijing-based technology Co., Ltd.; Xie Xiaolin, an engineer of Sichuan Provincial Meteorological Service; two professors of Chengdu University of Information Technology, ZhangFugui, Liu Zhihong and Deng Xiaobo. Yang Ling, the dean of College of Electronic Engineering attended the meeting. Tang Zhiya--the deputy director of the Science and Technology Division--presided the meeting .
Yang Ling first extended warm welcome to the experts participating in the meeting, then expressed thanks to Chinese Meteorological Administration, Sichuan Provincial Meteorological Service and HUAYUN ShineTek Company for their continuous concern and support to our school, finally conveyed a hope that the experts would offer their valuable advice to the implementation plan. Sun Xiubin--an associate professor from College of Electronic Engineering reported specifics to experts from such areas as site selection, electromagnetic environmental measurement and protection, the infrastructure of receiving antenna, the computer room construction of receiving site, back-end data center construction, construction budgets, and scientific research plan based on No. 4 meteorological satellite. After a series of questions and discussions, the expert group considered that the implementation plan met the relevant standards and construction requirements---full contents, feasible technology and reasonable schedule. Therefore, they agreed that the implementation plan passed the review.
Reference material: No. 4 Meteorological Satellite is the second--generation stationary meteorological satellite in China. It was first launched in 2016 and was officially delivered to Chinese Meteorological Administration in 2017. It greatly improved the time resolution and regional mobile detection capabilities, promoted the performance of scanning imager, strengthened the monitoring capabilities of small and medium-scale weather systems, and enhanced the monitoring and warning of space weather, Compared with No.2 Meteorological Satellite. No. 4 Meteorological Satellite equipped with advanced multi-channel scanning imaging radiometer, interferometric atmospheric vertical detector, lightning imager and other equipment. Therefore, No. 4 an leading-edge meteorological remote sensing satellite in China.
